Name: Lakes District Museum
Typology: New Build - Storage Facility & Courtyard
This project consisted of external alterations to the heritage listed Category 2 Lakes District Museum (former bank) in the form of a new storage building (at basement level) with a rooftop courtyard that includes street furniture, paving, lighting, planting and fencing.
The project consisted in preparation of AEE, architectural plans for resource consent and architectural detailed drawings for building consent application and construction. The process included getting approval from Heritage NZ, the Arrowtown Planning Advisory Group and the Queenstown and District Historical Society 2008 Inc.
These works were intended to protect the identified historic heritage values of the building and to help safeguard it for the future.
