Building surveying is one of the broadest fields of the construction industry and is a rapidly growing profession in New Zealand. Here and in many other countries across the world, building surveyors are involved in all aspects of design, construction and management of property.
At Origin Heritage, we specialise in the inspection, care, repair, adaptive reuse and maintenance of heritage buildings and structures, including:
Robin Miller is a Registered Member of the New Zealand Institute of Building Surveyors (NZIBS) and a Chartered Building Surveyor (The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors). He has more than 30 years’ experience as a building surveyor and, for more than half of that time, has specialised in heritage buildings. Over the years, he has worked on a very wide range of structures from cathedrals and churches to bridges, castles, municipal buildings, ruins and archaeological sites, farm buildings, mansions, museums, galleries, cottages and statues.
Andrew Barsby has over 20 years experience in the building industry and is a trained stonemason and project manager. The majority of work over that time was on heritage buildings and structures including two cathedrals, churches, universities, schools, town halls, a prison and centuries old farmhouses. He has worked in Melbourne, Sydney, New Zealand, Spain and the Channel Islands. Prior to joining Origin, his expertise in the area of built heritage continued with his appointment as Heritage Advisor for the Otago/ Southland office of Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga. Andrew is a transitional member of NZIBS.
