Name: St Bathans Hall
Location: St Bathans, Central Otago
Typology: Restoration & Heritage Conservation & Seismic Strengthening
Built from mud-brick and native timber the St Bathans Hall was completed in 1893. During its life it has been used as a cinema, mining office, roller rink, masonic lodge and is still used as a community hall to this day.
Since 2006 Origin Heritage ( formerly Jackie Gillies & Associates ) have documented and overseen the conservation and restoration efforts with a number of consultants and specialist tradesmen. Currently, Origin are preparing concepts for seismic strengthening and developing specifications for ongoing maintenance and long term conservation.
